Image Dive has arranged a continuing special price deal for an SMB and reel combo for the divers out there. First off some of you will say what do I need one of those things for? I haven't needed one yet and I have been diving for years! What's the big deal?
Basically an SMB or Surface Marker Buoy enables a dive boat to find you in the event of you surfacing away from the boat, should your compass be broken or your buddy navigated. One of the main reasons to use them is some of our current local dives in Perth are near a submerged cable that we are not permitted to anchor near. This means we drop a spot line and then drop the divers without anchoring. This serves many benefits in that you as a diver can swim any direction you like, send up your SMB at the end of your dive and we will find you quickly and easily rather than looking for 2 little black hoods in a big ocean! With the current events on the East coast, you can see that it may have saved a night on the ocean for a couple of people! It is strongly recommended that all divers carry an SMB. Some of you will say but my buddy has one. The easiest way a dive boat knows who is where when divers drift away we count the SMB's to try and tally with the numbers of divers in the water and those who have already surfaced. Aside from that, have you ever lost track of your buddy on a dive? The package we are offering is not a plastic fantastic, if you want one this isn't it! This is quality dive equipment that works and will last many years of diving. - 1-Deep red SMB 1.5 M long with 25lbs of lift RRP 89.95
- 1-15m finger spool RRP $24.95
This has a usual cost of $114.95 Image Dive and Dolphin Scuba are offering this package for $80 and can be purchased onboard the Southern Image or from Dolphin Dive in Welshpool.
